anyone use grindr and been recognized in real life?
Started using the Grindr app to find girls the other week, put my photo up not thinking twice about it and a few days later got a message from some dude who goes to my gym wanting to hook up in the steam room there (ewww).
Pretty awkward, and I basically asked the guy to not even acknowledge me in the gym should he see me as Im just not interested in males.
To top it off he works in the same industry as me, and there is a very good chance he may even be employed at my company (not yet confirmed).
I've since changed my picture of course lol

Don’t be paranoid. doubt he’s looking to out you.
suggestion: put in your profile that you’re not into guys and that will generally dissuade dL gay dudes from responding.

I doubt he's going to go around telling everyone you know that he wanted to fuck in the steam room lol. Don't be so paranoid.

but he will go around telling people he saw you on Grindr. So he's got a reason to feel a little paranoia.

pretty much this...I hope the guys discreet and not an asshole.

Kinda similar thing happened to me on grindr. My profile states i'm only into trans and femboys but masculine ass dudes say "fuck it" and message you all thirsty and shit. After telling the guy to fuck off he tells me he knows who I am because his friend matched with me on tinder. Gay dudes act just like straight dudes who get rejected by women but the gay dudes try to "expose" you because they're butthurt that you dont want them.

I see no reason why he would. Maybe it's different abroad but in my experience here in the UK Grindr is seen as a sex app rather than a dating app; guys don't tend to openly discuss it's use with work colleagues and friends because of the social stigmas associated with looking for casual sex.

this is your problem right here. grindr is a gay app.
as for your co-worker who wants to have sex with you in the steam room: i say got for it.

Sounds like mutually assured destruction to me. Unless he's totally 'out' and unashamed about it the other guy is probably just as worried as you are.
It's interesting that he has assumed that anyone into tgirls must also be into men. I guess misconceptions about TS admirers are not confined to straights.

Lots of gay dudes dont see trans women as women. They get extremely jealous of them and resort to the typical insults. "Its still a dude. You're still gay. Etc."
