Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
From a client standpoint I have paid with plastic and, on rare occasion, claimed it as a business expense (All within legal boundaries).
From a provider standpoint, yes, you should claim income and pay taxes on that income. Whether or not you do so on =ALL= of that income is entirely up to you.
The IRS is, and always has been, the BIG BROTHER of Orwellian legend. They follow every dollar in the US economy, in some way, no matter how small or 'hidden'. In conjunction with the Bank Secrecy Act (Which, really, has nothing at all sekrit about it), they can jack you for some of the most minuscule indiscrepencies (Sp?) on or off of your 1040.
Whether or not an escort claims all of their income at the end of the year is irrelevant. Whether or not they get caught for what they don't claim is what's at issue.
If you cry poor mouth with a filing of $50k on your 1040 and the IRS manages to find annual expenditures of $250k in your accounts? Getting fucked in the ass by a rude, filthy client will be nothing compared to what the Uncle will do to your sorry ass.
"In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

Beardedone is right on track with this.
But it like a russian roulette game, if the IRS isn't trying to dig you up, you are safe for a while, but if they get a reason to sniff around, well, nice knowing ya! Who's to say they don't have people on this board right now?????

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
I like the idea of visiting an escort as a tax deductible item, I suspect it would even encourage more men to do it, a sort of win-win situation for the escort and her client. But how does it appear on the tax form, and what happens if the escort won't give you a receipt for the payment? Hmmmm. Does it come under Stress Relief? Remedial Therapy?

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
I suspect in the example given it appears as "Business Entertainment Expense" which would also cover things like taking a client out to dinner, a ball game, etc.
As far as whether escorts pay taxes goes, the safest way would be to report all income, even cash payments. That way you're covered against the excesses of an IRS investigation. With the situation the government is in right now, the IRS folks are probably under a lot of pressure to find all the tax revenue they can. The small business owner who doesn't report cash payments may regret that in the long run, because when he gets caught it won't be pretty. The word Draconian comes to mind with interest and penalties for tax evasion.

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
I am really curious about the tax issue. Most of the girls fall to the left politically, so I would think they would happily pay their fair share, even if they get their income from cash.
