Damn. I really do try to think the best of people before I get a good sense of what they're capable of. I was kinda rethinking my position two pages ago, but now it's more than clear Carmen is just a big attention whore and purposely manipulating the trans community against TLC. I'm no fan of TLC. It's just the next in a line of TV networks that used to have a purpose and deviated. I guess I was so quick to jump the bandwagon because I've heard stories about how dishonest reality shows can be post-production. It was an easy pill to swallow before I read into more of the details.

I feel dumb now. lol.

Yeah it wasn't a good idea to agree to do that hun. People are ignorant and sometimes downright rude and given that you knew the reason you were on the show was to mislead the guy into thinking you were a born-female, you have to get a thicker skin. Going on a show where the only purpose of you being there is to "trick" someone isn't going to benefit the trans community in any shape or form. Things like this are the reason why I don't tell tons of people I'm trans. Why deal with extra bullshit when we've got enough to deal with already. Not everyone's gonna accept you as a woman or know the right terminology... especially stupid, ignorant men. I feel bad for you but I can't say you didn't set yourself up.

Amazing.. It's almost like the words were taken right out of our mouths... Why isn't there a petition for HER public apology?

Also, interesting how when WE mentioned our doubts about this situation on here, we were accused of 'jumping all over' it. Now that someone blogs about it, everyone is on board. Right.
