My take on what makes Joey Silvera great is two words: enthusiasm & intimacy - he pulls you into his scenes, especially with his little "getting to know the performer" bits that he often has at the beginning of his scenes - like his back-and-forth with Jane Marie in the park in the first scene he shot with her. Joey's work was the reason why I got hooked on TS porn as well. Although some may not want to hear it, the guy re-innovated the genre. He also did the same for Female on male strap-on porn and for awhile there he look like he was about to do the same for the BBW genre as well.

And just to be fair, there are things that I don't like about his scenes as well. For example, he tries to interview the stars after their respective money shots. Sometimes after the action is over, its just best to let it end on a high note.

I'm not talking about the gonzo style itself. I'm talking about the genre of TS porn. From what I remember about TS porn around the time the first Rogue Adventures came out, it was pretty crappy. I was curious what the reasons others would list that ITHO made Joey a star amongst TS directors. My take:

Good eye for talent
Great production values (lighting, sound, video)
Never makes two clunkers in a row so there will always be funding.
Seems to have a really connection to the the tranny chaser (the girls are best suited to address this.

Jay Sin has many of the same attributes to his work but IMHO he dials up the shock value fro better and worse.
