The spirit of Halloween continues! Halloween is All Hallows' Eve, also called All Saints' Eve. That makes November 1 All Hallows' Day, or All Saints' Day. However, November 2 is All Souls' Day. The three combined days are Allhallowtide, or the Hallowmas season, or the Triduum of All Hallows.

And did you know that in Mexico, Allhallowtide corresponds to the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos), which is actually misnomered, because it lasts three days, from October 31 to November 2 inclusive. Since I'm half-Mexican, I think it quite appropriate that I continue in the Hallowmas/Day of the Dead spirit. (The other half of me is poodle, with perhaps a bit of Lab mix.)

Okay. Halloween ain't gettin' away from me all that quick. It's still the overall combined Hallowmas somewhere in this great nation of ours. Such is the great favor that this blessed nation of ours has provided to those who need extra time zones due to their general slackedness.

The most epic Speed Metal album ever. I got this on cassette when it first came out, and would play it on both-side continuous loop while I slept. This helped to stew my synapses into a sharp instrument growing up. The album's eponymous Painkiller mascot is a Christic figure. I didn't know that as a kid. Your internal, subconscious demons believe in Hell. After all, they construct Hell. Why should they not believe in the existence of that which they manufacture. It is their product.

You quite take after your unhealthily-held hero Karl Marx. Your desire to send yourself and everyone else to Hell for all eternity is a truly unfortunate psychological affliction. Though a common one.

Yet in Christian theology, as in libertarianism (i.e., liberalism, to use the original language), you have the right to go to Hell, Stavros. No one is going to force Heaven on you. Indeed, it would not and could not be Heaven if you were there, unless you changed your ways.

Heaven is being away from people like you, Stavros. Hell is being around those of your mentality.

As to why people often wish to go to Hell, it's because Hell is written into our DNA code. Hell is familiar. Hell is family. It's something the human ape mind can comprehend. Indeed, the human apes manufacture Hell on their assembly-lines, with their bombs, their poison gasses, their truncheons, their shackles. Humans know well the methods of Hell.
