Eh.
He's no Jack Nicholson. It looks like they fucked up his face just to make him "darker" and scarier. Kinda cheap.

What's with the Herpes on his face?
I'm not liking this pic, but then again I didn't like the batsuit in BB until I watched the movie. I trust Nolan won't fuck this up. It can't be any worse that Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.

I think it has good potential. You have to take into account that this movie series is moving things into much more "realistic" territory.
The Joker wouldn't be some hammy, gimick driven villian, he'd be a deeply disturb sociopath. His back story is that he was disfigured by falling into a vat of acid (super villians really should start being more careful around those acid vats/lava pits/whatever), went insane, and his face was twisted into a perpetual smile.
In this version of things, I'm betting, whenever the Joker finds some perverse joy in pulling off some horrible crime, his face will take on an overly wide, inhuman smile. It will probably be a pretty cool, creepy looking effect. Definately more plausible then Nicholsons permagrin.

I like it and the direction they're taking with the franchise. The previous, Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney incarnations of Batman were retarded as hell.

Life is essentially one long Benny Hill skit punctuated by the occasional Anne Frank moment.

i saw a different pic some weeks ago, don't remember where, don't know it it's official, it has the logos on it...
i like it... i like the more realistic take that Nolan is constructing. after all, one of the things that i've always liked about batman is that of all the "super heroes" (or heroes), he's the one who seems more likely to actually exist.
