Default Bareback oral sex prevents HIV/AIDS!!!

This article links to a study that basically says giving lots of oral sex to a partner who is HIV positive, even one who is untreated, can actually promote the development of antibodies preventing HIV infection.

Leave it to those dirty Swedes to try such a study. You have to admit, the conclusions are damn intriguing.

So, will escorts start charging clients double to suck them off, for the added value?

p.s. I am not absolutely proof positive this is a legit site, etc. It was linked to from a legit site, but it still could be a spoof.

according to the article... if i understood it right.... is that the person giving the head is negative and the person receiving is positive.... the negative person isnt immune to it... they just develop antibodies to the ONE strain that the person theyve been blowing has

for whores to charge double for the head they are receiving would mean they are only providing antibodies to THEIR strain

    charge double... no

to prevent clients from getting the escorts strain all she need to do is ...... gasp... wear a condom

Yeah, I know. That was a throwaway joke line in my post. This study seems to apply most to long term monogamous relationships.

The study is legit, being quoted in medical journals:
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19114861

It's in the current issue of the journal AIDS. For a layperson's summary go to:
    http://www.aidsmap.com/en/news/BDB34...015992FD86.asp

Personally, as a scientist, I'd say it's pretty inconclusive, uses a small sample and doesn't disprove the current theory that there is a small but very real chance that AIDS can be spread from oral sex. I wouldn't risk it. But then again, the findings may be very useful indeed, if medical researchers can trigger salivary glands to produce neutralising chemicals and use these chemicals to produce pharmaceutical products.

If the research and conclusions are verifiable, then I think you understate the significance when you limit its value to just medical research.

People in monogamous relationships with HIV+ partners can possibly forgo condoms in their sexual activity, at some point, without fear of infection. Especially if they consult a doctor to see if they have, indeed, developed antibodies to their partner's strain of HIV. That ain't chickenfeed.

Public health officials will always error on the cautious side of things when giving people advice about sex. But out in the real world people weigh the risks and circumstances of their actions, and this study, if it's expanded upon and verified, could be a boon for those who want more a more intimate bond with their partners.
